Kinja'd!!!

It’s $3000, it’s got the 350, it runs, and it’s the best color they came in, but it’s got no title and has been off the road for 6 years for an unspecified reason.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Also no interior pictures, but that’s hopefully just due to a lazy seller.

I don’t know how the title thing will work out. I need one to register it in MA, but I’d have to apply for an NH one and transfer it. The NH DMV however, says that they will NOT issue a title for a car older than 1999, but then goes on to say a vehicle older than 25 years can be titled at owner’s request? Can anyone clarify this?

You should hold for one with the mad torquez of an Iron Duke, yo.

Without a title, no. Besides, the ad is pretty light on the details. Like the 6 year old brand new tires which would be junk at this point.

Has it been genuinely off the road, or just unregistered? That could make a huge difference. Looks reasonably clean.

If they can get a title, maybe. Without one, no.

Also, this totally depends on what the underside of the car looks like. T-tops can leak and that will trash the floor in short order.

Seems a bit steep to me. Just bought a 95 LT1/T56 Z28 with heads, Holley throttle body, headers, decent wheels and tires, etc, for $3800, with a title.

I don't think there's any left. They've all either been scrapped or crate motor'd by now.

I’d say only if they can acquire a title for you.

“no title” is a huge red flag.

Don't know that'd be the point of calling, but the big sticking point is the title. I've edited the post to explain it better.

Looks too clean to have been left outside for six years.

3rd gens, especially IROCs, have been appreciating since the fall of 2013. If it’s a real 350/700R4 car and is in good shape it’s not a bum deal.

Given you can get a title, of course.

Kinja'd!!! crowmolly > If only EssExTee could be so grossly incandescent

It didn’t spend it’s whole life in a garage. It’s not a forgotten 3rd gen but could still have some rot underneath.

“No title” is the norm for NH though because the state doesn’t require one to register a car. The lack of title is not particularly indicative of anything hinky going on.

Looks clean, although I will say the part of the hood and nose with the bra is probably trashed. Years of dirt, salt, and other crap gets in there and rust or ruins the paint if the owner never took it off. They will also flap in the wind scratching where the brakes ends. Even so $3k is a good deal though IF you can title it. If not give him $1500 and Race Car

It’s not teal.

If they can produce a title then go for it but if it is too much of a hassle for them it’s probably a sign that you should just pass and move onto another one. Any excuse such as “oh well that will be easy” is just a red flag because if it was it would have already been done. The DMV is a silly place and I like to keep my visits there to an absolute minimum.

Not worth 3 grand. You can get a daily driver for 3 grand. With title.

Plus, with no door decals, what's the point?

Can’t get a titled, dd quality, V8, fuel injected 3rd gen in any color than spray-paint black gor less than 4k in my neck of the woods.

Good to know! I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on an ‘86 IROC 350/700R4 for a grand

Will do! It’s all mine; it currently lives in my neighbor’s garage. All I have to do is appease the wife’s edict of “Only one project car” and part out my old Saab to make space.

So I have an asston of 900 SPG parts heading to the internet marketplaces soon :\

Engine, trans in there too? Any mods?

Kinja'd!!! Nibbles > crowmolly
03/18/2016 at 14:34

Kinja'd!!!0

Original trans and a beefed up unit if I want to pay a little extra. Engine - he says is the original block - is uninstalled and deconstructed, ready for machining. I’ll have to check the numbers to be certain

As well, I don’t particularly care if it’s not numbers-matching. If he doesn’t have the original block, I’ll just LS swap.

Kinja'd!!! crowmolly > Nibbles
03/18/2016 at 14:36

Kinja'd!!!1

To be honest I’d just take the original trans, heads, block etc and mothball them. If you ever have to sell it will help the value.

For driving, LS/T56 swap all day.

Kinja'd!!! Nibbles > crowmolly
03/18/2016 at 14:50

Kinja'd!!!0

That’s my reasoning exactly .

I’m thinking LS3 and T56 or maybe go balls-out and swap that T56 for a TR6060. Yes I know how much work is involved in getting a TR6060 under a 3rd gen F. No I don’t care. I like the challenge

Kinja'd!!! crowmolly > Nibbles

This thing is going to be so sketchy. These were not well built cars, and this one doesn’t exactly look fresh off the showroom floor. I ‘ve heard horror stories about dry rotted vaccum lines.
